Artist statement
I explore the translation of emotion, memory, and consciousness into experiential forms. My practice sits at the intersection of surrealism, futurism, femininity, and abstraction, where fragility and intensity coexist. I’m drawn to moments where feeling outweighs explanation—where an image holds what language cannot.
My work moves through psychological and spiritual introspection, love, and human vulnerability, using visual language as a way to make inner worlds visible.
Biography
Melanie Aguilar Garcia (MAD4U) is a Mexican multimedia artist based in Toronto whose practice moves across 3D animation, moving image, generative media, and immersive installation. Her work transforms intimate experiences of love, grief, vulnerability, memory, and transformation into surreal audiovisual environments.
Combining abstraction, sound, virtual spaces, projection, and real-time technologies, she explores emotion as a universal language and the possibilities of making internal experiences visible, spatial, and shared.
